Why did you decide to elope rather than go for a more traditional wedding?
We both have big families and rather than feeling excited by the wedding planning, we felt overwhelmed and stressed not to mention the cost, which was phenomenal. We had always joked about just running away together & one afternoon amidst wedding planning stress, we said let's just do it. When I fell pregnant not long after, the decision to elope felt perfect.
What made you choose BoHo Cornwall?
The afternoon we decided to elope, I got stuck into Google and stumbled across BoHo.
I fell in love with everything about it, showed Matt the website and emailed that day about availabilities.
What were the highlights of your elopement?
Our wedding day is one of the happiest days of our lives. Matt often says he can’t remember any other day that he has smiled from the moment he woke up the moment he went to bed. I loved the ceremony, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day & I loved how relaxed it felt.
What will be your lasting memory?
My lasting memory will be of how our wedding day couldn't have gone any better. Our wedding was about just us two and our commitment to each other and our baby.
What would your advice be to others planning an elopement?
For us, eloping was 100% the right thing to do. We told no one until after we were married & had mixed responses. Some of those closest to us felt hurt they weren't told or invited but mostly people were very happy for us. My advice would be to make sure that you prepare yourself for mixed responses!
Looking back, would you change anything or do anything different?
I would not change a thing!
