Why did you decide to elope rather than go for a more traditional wedding?
We had already decided that we would marry in Cornwall as it is our dream to one day move and spend the rest of our days there. We have both been married before so didn’t want a huge wedding. We had hoped to find a nice Registry Office and then somewhere to eat combining it with a holiday, however, when trawling the internet we couldn’t believe our luck when we came across BOHO. It looked amazing and we knew instantly that this was what we had been looking for.
What made you choose BoHo Cornwall?
We still wanted our day to be special and we wanted it to be about us and who we are. It was so much fun organising our day everything just fell into place. Maya called to confirm the arrangements and to tell us a little about her and Tom, we hadn’t even met but it was like chatting to and old friend, we knew then that we had made the right decision and that everything was going to be perfect. We found Debs Ivelja, Darren Broom, The Cornish Cutting Garden, & The Cornwall Camper Co. all thanks to Tom and Maya, they made it so easy.
What were the highlights of your elopement?
So many highlights, the tranquillity we felt as soon as we arrived. We were welcomed and showered with warmth but still had this wonderful feeling of being in our own little bubble. Bradley’s highlight was hearing ‘Sail away with me’ and then seeing Michele walking towards him, a moment he will cherish for ever. Michele’s highlight, having the most romantic picnic ever at Cape Cornwall, looking out to sea then at each other and laughing ‘is this really happening? Have we really just been to the best wedding ever?’
What will be your lasting memory?
Climbing across the stone walls on our way to the cape after the ceremony and our wonderful picnic. We were tipsy from champagne and high on love ha! ha! Tom and Maya, you of course made the whole experience memorable for us. You let us marry in your beautiful home and gave us the most wonderful memories. Our lasting memory, how much we laughed on our special day!
What would your advice be to others planning an elopement?
Follow your heart, and make your special day all about the two of you.
Looking back, would you change anything or do anything different?
No not a thing. Even the sun shone all day. I can still remember every detail of our wedding day and stay at BOHO, and It always makes me smile.
