BoHo Elopement x Lindsay and Tom - Q&A

Why did you decide to elope rather than go for a more traditional wedding?

Tom and I had been together for almost ten years and had grown tired of the questions about when we would finally get married. At a family wedding we both decided we wanted to just run away and not have to explain any of our choices to anyone. So that’s what we did. Other than our parents and my grandmother, we kept it a secret for nine months. It didn’t feel like we were making a big decision, not having a more traditional wedding – it was just right for us.

What made you choose BoHo Cornwall?

We’ve always loved the south west and had many special memories there already. We wanted to elope and dreamed of being by the sea. As soon as we found BoHo online we just knew it was perfect.

What were the highlights of your elopement?

Tom and Maya’s welcome on arrival at their beautiful house made us instantly know we had made the right decision. It seemed as though they had already thought of every little detail to ensure we had the most perfect stay. Ochre was gorgeous and the views were truly breath-taking. The location was fantastic – so close to the beautiful Sennen beach. Our photographer, Adam Gibbard (one of the ones Tom and Maya recommended) was absolutely amazing and captured our day perfectly. Getting married outside in the sun, on a beautiful April day, in the most gorgeous setting will be something we never forget.

What will be your lasting memory?

Waking up on the morning of our wedding, looking out at the view and feeling like the luckiest person in the world.

What would your advice be to others planning an elopement?

Do it. Don’t get bogged down in worrying about what you should or shouldn’t do and who you should please. Whatever you do, make sure it is 100% about the two of you.

Looking back, would you change anything or do anything different?

It sounds so cheesy to say it, but it genuinely was perfect and we would not change a thing. So many people have said to us how envious they are of what we did and how, if they could do it all again, they’d do it the way we did. We just feel so lucky we found Tom and Maya at BoHo. My only wish would be to do it all again!
