Why did you decide to elope rather than go for a more traditional wedding?
When we first started talking about getting married we were looking at having a traditional wedding, but as we got further into planning we realised it just wasn’t ‘us’. We are both very low key, private people and a big wedding seemed extremely daunting. We also had logistics to deal with as I am Australian and Adam is British, the costs associated with getting both families in one place were going to be higher than the cost of the actual wedding. Eloping just felt more suited to us as a couple.
What made you choose BoHo Cornwall?
Adam actually found BoHo when he was searching for elopement venues! The overall concept was exactly what we were looking for. The venue looked relaxed and intimate and the location was stunning. Every time we looked at it we fell in love with it more and more. When Tom and Maya emailed us back to say our preferred date was available we jumped on it.
What were the highlights of your elopement?
Tom and Maya were amazing, they make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive and do whatever they can to make sure everything is perfect. And it really was! The biggest highlight for us was the actual ceremony. It was so intimate and romantic, it was exactly what we wanted. As we were eloping it was very important for us to have a photographer there to document everything and thanks to the extremely talented Debs Ivelja we have the most beautiful wedding photos. Every part of our elopement from start to finish was perfect.
What will be your lasting memory?
I don’t think we can choose just one! The buzz of excitement and nervous butterflies the morning of the ceremony is definitely a feeling we will never forget. The ceremony itself was beautiful, that memory will stay with us forever.
What would your advice be to others planning an elopement?
If it’s what you want, do it. Big weddings aren't for everyone! Just because you don’t have a big wedding does not mean you can’t have YOUR perfect wedding. At the end of the day a wedding is supposed to be about the bride and groom, eloping just keeps it that way.
Looking back, would you change anything or do anything different?
Not a thing! Everything was honestly perfect! If we were given the choice to do it all over again we would still do it exactly as we did.
